Roy Temple is the former chief-of-staff for the late Governor Mel Carnahan of Missouri and now maintains the Fired Up! Missouri website. He has done a laudable job of covering the cronyism that is rampant in the Matt Blunt administration (Matt is the son of Congressman Roy Blunt).

Spence Jackson is Matt Blunt's Communication Director. When Roy Temple tried to attend Matt Blunt's signing of SB1014, as he is legally entitled to do, chaos ensued. From Roy's blog:

Upon my arrival, Governor Blunt's staff initially invited me right into the reception area of the office along with other members of the media. Soon, the Governor's hyper-political communications director showed up to "handle" the situation. According to the FEC, I am a member of the media. However, that is not good enough for Mr. Jackson.

For too long the right wing has dishonestly and successfully claimed a monopoly on "faith". We need to take back the dialogue and expose the hypocrisy. Why is it that "liberal" Massachusetts has the lowest divorce rate in the country while the southern "Bible belt" has the highest? Indeed, Evangelical Christians have one of THE HIGHEST rates of divorce. Yet they wanted to outlaw gay marriage to "defend marriage." I intend on fighting back and showing it's entirely possible to be both religious and vehemently opposed to a theocracy.
